TSB to close more branches

High street bank TSB has announced it is to close 36 branches.

It is also set to cut 250 jobs, in the fraud operations department and central operations, as well as staff affected by the closures, as reported by Sky.

TSB, which has a headquarters in Gloucester, will close the majority of branches in September, with nine earmarked for closure in May next year.

The branches in Cheltenham, Gloucester and Tewkesbury will remain open.

After this latest round of closures, the bank will have 175 UK branches. It has already closed 10 branches over the last year.

TSB said the closures are because most of its customers now do their banking online and it needs to achieve a 'better balance' of staff in digital and face-to-face roles.
