The Music Works launches £40,000 fundraising campaign

The Gloucestershire-based charity The Music Works' has officially launched its Big Give Arts for Impact campaign!

Starting today (March 19) at 12pm until March 26, every contribution made through the campaign page will be matched, doubling the impact of each donation until the target of £40,000 is reached.

The Music Works exists to transform the lives of young people in challenging circumstances through the power of music, enabling them to reach their full potential in learning and in life.

Last year, they engaged with over 8,000 young people to create a safe space using music to build confidence, improve mental well-being and develop essential skills for brighter futures; and the demand for their services continues to grow.

One parent shared their gratitude after a series of one-to-one mentoring sessions through The Music Works Key Changes programme saying: "I have to just write to thank you so much for your work with Harry. Honestly, I can't put into words how amazing it is to actually hear him say how much he's loving it and that it's brilliant! It is the first time...ever...that he is so positively engaged in something and really looks forward to going! What a joy!! I'm so very grateful. Please may it go on forever!!"

The charity's goal is to raise £20,000 this week, a sum that will be matched, thanks to secured funding from the Arts for Impact campaign. This means an incredible total of £40,000 will be raised for The Music Works if they hit their target.

Michaela Pearson, head of major donor & stewardship at The Music Works, said: "As a charity we rely on funding to be able to carry out the work we do. This campaign offers a unique opportunity where every donation no matter what size will be doubled!

"To give an example of what your donation can do, a £5 donation (doubled to £10) can provide a young person from challenging circumstances the opportunity to create music and make new friends in a safe and supportive environment."
