Calling young entrepreneurs to Cirencester YOUTH Market

Cirencester Town Council's successful YOUTH Market will be returning to the Market Place on Saturday, June 15.

The market aims to support young entrepreneurs, businesses and traders by showcasing regional talent alongside seasoned traders, as reflected in the market's acronym 'Youngest to Oldest and Upcoming, Trading in Harmony'.

The market provides a platform for young people to work alongside our established market traders, learning from their experiences and offers the opportunity to test business ideas and sharpen sales and merchandising techniques.

Applications are open now to anyone aged 16 - 30 within the South West region. Amongst those that have already booked their pitch are Mai Design UK, Sew Eco, Daisies and Bees Designs, ASHK London, and Wintour Accessories.

The market is also a great opportunity for fundraising activities; last year students from Cirencester Deer Park School, who were fundraising for a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Ghana to help build a school, too part.

They said: "Thank you so much for allowing the girls the opportunity to trade for their fundraising efforts. They had a fantastic day and did so well! Also, I really do need to say how lovely the market traders were, everyone involved was so friendly and so supportive."

Cllr Sarah Orr, Cirencester's deputy mayor and lead member for community services, said: "There are some motivated and talented young entrepreneurs in the area and we're delighted to be able to provide this excellent opportunity to help them grow and develop.

"We're looking for people aged between 16 - 30 who have created a new product or started their own business. If you or someone you know would be interested in getting involved, please get in touch.

Stall hire for the event is £20 and will include your own covered stall with table top.

If you would like to host a stall please contact Sarah Oakley, community services officer at markets@cirencester.gov.uk
